Raising Over £100,000 for Charity – And We’re Not Stopping There!
At Moneyweb, giving back is something we truly believe in. Over the years, our team, clients, and community have come together to support causes close to our hearts. We’re incredibly proud to share that, through collective efforts, we have now raised over £100,000 for charity – a milestone that reflects the generosity and commitment of everyone involved.
Our most recent fundraising efforts contributed £41,672 to Saint Catherine’s Hospice, an organisation that provides invaluable care and support to patients and families. This funding helped renovate the hospice’s family and carer room, transforming it into a warm, welcoming space for loved ones to find comfort during difficult times. Additionally, a portion of the funds was used to hire a new Occupational Therapist, expanding the hospice’s ability to provide hands-on support to patients in their own homes. Seeing the tangible impact of our fundraising has been incredibly rewarding, and it only fuels our determination to continue making a difference.
Looking Ahead: Our 2025 Fundraising Efforts
As we look ahead to 2025, the Moneyweb team is taking a fresh approach to fundraising. Rather than focusing on a single charity, each team member has chosen a cause that holds personal significance to them. Throughout the year, they’ll be taking on individual challenges to raise funds and awareness for their selected charities.
Some of the team will be taking on Tough Mudder, while Paul has chosen to support Stroke Association UK through his fundraising efforts. Luke will be putting in the miles with a road biking challenge to Newcastle for RABI – the Farmers Charity, and Nick has committed to the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of Sickle Cell Society. Megan will test her endurance by climbing as many mountains as possible in a weekend in the Lake District for Andy’s Man Club.
Jess and Mia will be running their own half marathon for Cancer Research UK, and Sasha will take fundraising to new heights with a sky dive for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. Josie and Chloe have chosen to support Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) with a Sunrise Walk at the Hole of Horcum, reflecting the charity’s logo colours, and may even take on a weighted challenge.
Vikki will be organising a coffee morning, bake sale, raffle, and ‘Name the Cuddly Toy’ competition to support Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind, with proceeds funding Mental Health First Aid training for another business. Beth will be hosting an office car park car boot sale to raise funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice, and Elliot will be sending a special box of teddy bears to The Teddy Trust to bring comfort to children in crisis.
With such a diverse range of challenges ahead, the team is excited to get started. We’ll be sharing updates along the way, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support from clients, colleagues, and the wider community. If you’d like to get involved or donate to any of these causes, keep an eye on our updates for more information.
A Huge Thank You
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our clients, business partners, family, and friends. Whether you’ve attended one of our events, donated, or simply helped spread the word, you’ve played a part in reaching this milestone. The generosity and kindness of our community never cease to amaze us, and we are truly grateful.
Paul Robinson, Director & Independent Financial Adviser at Moneyweb, shared his thoughts on the achievement:
“Reaching £100,000 raised for charity is something we’re incredibly proud of. What’s even more special is seeing the direct impact this money has had, whether it’s funding an Occupational Therapist at Saint Catherine’s Hospice or supporting causes that mean so much to our team. We’re excited to continue fundraising in 2025 and to support even more incredible organisations.”
